A private chauffeur in Miami who drives your own car

Most people who search for a private chauffeur in Miami picture a driver in a hired sedan. RydeBack works the other way round. We send two chauffeurs. One takes the wheel of the car you arrived in, whether that is a Rolls-Royce, a Ferrari or the family SUV, and delivers it to your home, your building's garage or any address you name. The other drives you and your guests in a RydeBack car. Nobody leaves a car with the valet overnight, and nobody drives after a long dinner on Collins Avenue.

This is what people mean when they ask for a personal driver in Miami for their own vehicle, a designated driver for a Miami night out, or simply a drive-my-car-home service for the trip back from South Beach. It fits late dinners, airport arrivals, marina days and race weekends. For the full picture of how the private chauffeur service for your own car runs in every RydeBack city, start there, then come back for the Miami detail below.

In Miami each chauffeur is billed at US$125 an hour and the trip itself at US$5 per kilometer. Hours run garage to garage, start with a three-hour minimum and then move in half-hour steps. The chauffeurs' ride back to base sits inside those hours, so you never pay for the same distance twice. Two chauffeurs for the minimum three hours come to US$750 before any distance is added.

How a RydeBack evening works in Miami

  1. Reserve ahead. Call 1-877-860-3388, email support@rydeback.com or open the chat button. Online reservations are opening soon and will ask for at least two hours' notice. Payment is taken in full when you book. There is no deposit.
  2. Know who is coming. Before pickup you receive both chauffeurs' names and photos, plus a one-time handover PIN that only you hold.
  3. Meet at the valet stand. In Miami your car is usually with a hotel or restaurant valet. Share the venue and ticket details and the pair meets you there, or at a condo porte-cochère or a marina gate. The PIN is matched before anyone touches your key.
  4. Seal and film. Your key drops into a numbered, signal-blocking Faraday pouch on the spot. Chauffeur 1 walks the car with photos and video before the engine starts, and every file lands in your private evidence vault.
  5. Two cars leave together. You and your guests ride with chauffeur 2 while chauffeur 1 drives your car straight to its address. Track both in the RydeBack web app. An email or text arrives at each stage: assigned, en route, keys secured, departed, arrived and keys returned.
  6. Handover at home. On arrival the car is filmed again and parked, and the key is released against your PIN to you, your house manager or the building concierge. Chauffeur 2 then picks up chauffeur 1, inside the hours already paid.

Would you rather sit in your own car? Pick the ride-in-your-own-car mode and chauffeur 2 follows close behind as a chase car, at the same price. Going somewhere other than your car, say a suite in Bal Harbour while the car heads to a Brickell garage? The different-destinations mode handles that. Compare all three on the RydeBack service options panel.

What a private chauffeur in Miami costs: typical routes

Each figure here is a range. Traffic on the causeways and on I-95 decides the hours, and hours are counted garage to garage. Distance means your own trip only.

  • South Beach dinner to a home in Coral Gables: about 20 to 30 km, normally inside the three-hour minimum, roughly US$850 to US$900.
  • Brickell to Key Biscayne over the Rickenbacker Causeway: 12 to 18 km in three hours, roughly US$810 to US$840.
  • Design District to Coconut Grove: 10 to 15 km in three hours, roughly US$800 to US$825.
  • Miami Beach or Bal Harbour to Fort Lauderdale: 40 to 50 km over three to three and a half hours, roughly US$950 to US$1,125.
  • Hard Rock Stadium to Star Island after a race day, with a standby window: 25 to 35 km over four to five hours, roughly US$1,125 to US$1,425.
  • Miami to Palm Beach: 110 to 125 km over four to five hours, roughly US$1,550 to US$1,875.

Expressway and causeway tolls on your route are estimated and already in the price. Gratuity is optional, added after the trip if you wish, and passed in full to the chauffeurs. For your exact addresses, run the instant Miami price calculator.

Handover notes for Miami's islands, towers and estates

Miami addresses come with their own rules. We plan each handover around them before the night begins.

  • Fisher Island: the island is reached by ferry, so we agree beforehand where your car is handed back, on the island or at the mainland terminal, within the island's own access arrangements.
  • Star Island and Indian Creek Village: both sit behind guarded entrances. Tell us the gate procedure and we pass the chauffeurs' names to security ahead of arrival.
  • Brickell condominium towers: many run valet-only garages. Your key goes to the valet or concierge you name, against a signature and photo, and the car is filmed in its bay.
  • Gables Estates and wider Coral Gables: long drives and gated homes. Say whether the car goes into the garage or stays on the motor court, and who receives the key.
  • Key Biscayne: one causeway in and out. We time pickups around event traffic so the hours stay sensible.
  • Coconut Grove and Bal Harbour: waterfront houses and hotel residences, where a house manager or front desk can take the key on your behalf.

Every one of these follows the same vehicle custody protocol: PIN match, sealed pouch, film before and after, and a record held in your vault for 12 weeks.

Private terminals, PortMiami and the marinas

Private flying in South Florida runs through Miami–Opa-locka Executive, Miami Executive and Fort Lauderdale Executive, alongside the main terminals at MIA and FLL. If you drove yourself to the terminal, chauffeur 1 takes your car home or to storage once you are wheels up. If your car waited at the terminal while you were away, we meet you on landing: you ride home with your party and your car follows with its own chauffeur.

Cruise days work the same way. After a week at sea, luggage and a parked car are the last things anyone wants to wrestle with. At PortMiami or Port Everglades, chauffeur 2 loads your bags and drives you home while chauffeur 1 brings your car out of the port garage behind you.

Then there are the marinas. After a day on the water from Miami Beach Marina, Island Gardens Deep Harbour on Watson Island or Bahia Mar in Fort Lauderdale, the yacht club bar is often where the evening ends. Charter guests can ride ashore to dinner and home while the car that brought them is returned. The same applies when your car is parked at Brightline MiamiCentral, Aventura or Fort Lauderdale station. Our clients in private aviation, yachting and hospitality use this most often.

Formula 1 weekend, Art Basel and the boat shows

Miami's calendar is built around a few very big weeks, and each one has its own rhythm.

  • Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix: the race is staged around Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. Parking and exit roads are slow after the checkered flag, so a standby window helps. Book the window, then tap "Bring my car home now" in the app when you are ready to leave the paddock party.
  • Art Basel Miami Beach: December brings gallery dinners, collectors' parties and late openings across Miami Beach and the Design District. Many guests drive between several stops; tell us the sequence and we plan the hours to match. Once the booking is paid, your pair of chauffeurs is held for you.
  • Miami International Boat Show and Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show: long days on the docks, then dinner. The Fort Lauderdale show falls inside hurricane season, so keep the rescheduling note below in mind.
  • Miami Open tennis, Kaseya Center and Hard Rock Stadium nights: leave the car where you parked and let us bring it home.

For hosts and organizers who want cover for several guests, our designated driver service for event nights explains how multiple chauffeur pairs are booked together.

Fort Lauderdale, Broward and the drive to Palm Beach

RydeBack covers Miami-Dade and Broward as one area. Fort Lauderdale dinners, Bahia Mar evenings, departures from FLL or Fort Lauderdale Executive and Port Everglades sailings are all routine trips. Families who split time between a Miami apartment and a house further up the coast use us for longer runs too.

Palm Beach is the most common long trip. Plan on four to five hours garage to garage for the 110 to 125 km drive. Some clients ride up with us for a weekend. Others send the car ahead alone in the different-destinations mode while they fly. In that case chauffeur 1 returns by taxi or rideshare. The fare is estimated in your upfront price and later settled to the receipt at cost, never more than 25% above the estimate.

Collectors moving a car to a specialist workshop, a storage facility or a concours can hire a driver to drive your car on the same terms, with the full inspection record attached to every move.

Florida rules, tolls and hurricane season

Florida's legal limit for drivers is a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.08. Impairment starts well below any legal line, as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration explains, and the CDC overview of impaired driving sets out why the safest plan is decided before the first drink. Booking RydeBack before dinner is that plan.

  • Tolls: South Florida's expressways use electronic tolling. SunPass charges for your route are estimated and included in the price you pay up front.
  • Hurricane season: June to November. When a storm makes driving unsafe, we contact you and trips may be rescheduled for safety.
  • Cancellation: cancel 72 hours or more before pickup for a full refund, or inside 72 hours for 50% back. A no-show, or a cancellation after the chauffeurs are dispatched, is not refunded. The full RydeBack cancellation policy has the detail.
  • Cleaning: a fee of US$250 to US$350 applies only if a vehicle is soiled, charged after the trip with photographs.
  • Insurance: commercial insurance is arranged for the service, with details confirmed at booking.

Accounts for Miami hotels, family offices and companies

Hotel concierges on Miami Beach can offer RydeBack to a guest who arrived by car and should not drive away. Family offices and assistants can book, track and receive every update for the principal without sharing a login. Companies hosting client dinners in Brickell can keep a prepaid corporate wallet, so every trip is settled in advance.

Whoever books, the chauffeurs are the same. Each one is approved for the city, background-checked, driving-record-checked, interviewed and assessed on a supervised drive. Exotic and high-value cars go only to chauffeurs in our professional tier. Read more about how we select our RydeBack chauffeurs, or contact the Miami team to open an account.

Frequently asked

Miami questions, answered.

How much does a private chauffeur in Miami cost with RydeBack?

Each of the two chauffeurs is billed at US$125 an hour, garage to garage, with a three-hour minimum, plus US$5 per kilometer on your own trip. A three-hour evening from South Beach to Coral Gables covering 20 to 30 km comes to roughly US$850 to US$900. Tolls are estimated and included.

Can I hire a personal driver in Miami to drive my own car?

Yes. That is the whole idea of RydeBack. Chauffeur 1 drives your own car to your home, garage or any address, while chauffeur 2 drives you and your guests in a RydeBack car.

Is there a designated driver service in Miami for luxury and exotic cars?

Yes. Supercars and high-value cars are assigned only to chauffeurs in our professional tier, and every car is filmed before and after the drive, with the key sealed in a numbered signal-blocking pouch throughout.

Who can drive my car home in Miami after dinner or a party?

A RydeBack chauffeur can. Book by phone on 1-877-860-3388, by email at support@rydeback.com or through the chat button, and the pair meets you at the restaurant, hotel valet or venue.

What does a chauffeur for your own car in Miami actually do?

They take custody of your key, inspect and film your car, then drive it directly to the address you choose with no passengers and no detours. A second chauffeur drives you. You follow both cars live in the web app.

Can you collect my car from a hotel valet on Miami Beach?

Yes. Share the hotel and valet ticket details when you book. The chauffeurs meet you at the stand, match your PIN, seal the key and inspect the car before driving off.

Do you cover Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach?

Fort Lauderdale and the rest of Broward are part of our regular Miami area. Palm Beach is a long-distance trip, typically four to five hours garage to garage for 110 to 125 km, roughly US$1,550 to US$1,875.

What happens if a hurricane is forecast on the day of my booking?

Hurricane season runs from June to November. If a storm makes driving unsafe, we contact you and the trip may be rescheduled for safety.

Can I ride in my own car instead of the RydeBack car?

Yes. Choose the ride-in-your-own-car mode. Chauffeur 1 drives you in your car and chauffeur 2 follows as a chase car, then takes chauffeur 1 back. The price is the same as the standard split mode.
